Regular price £75.00

Stunning and detailed woven obi made by hand in the famous Nishijin silk weaving area in Kyoto, the centre of this ancient and highly skilled craft dating back through generations of families. We have given this amazing textile a second life by turning it into a small square throw pillow.

* Limited edition of 1.
* 31cm x 31cm  / 12" x 12" approx.
* Ethically sourced British made feather pad.

Sustainably produced by upcycling/repurposing vintage silk originally from a Japanese Obi sash dating from the Mid Showa Period (over 40 years old).

The reverse is made from repurposed vintage cream kimono silk.

There is only one made exactly like this so would make a truly unique gift or treat.

The scene depicts a bridge near maple and pine trees (matsu). Many figures from the past populate the scene all wearing historical dress. We will send you a free Hunted and Stuffed guide to symbols in Japanese textiles with every order.
