An orange/silver cushion made from upcycled vintage Japanese obi silk with geometric metallic diamond and hexagon patterns.

This eco-friendly Asian throw pillow is handmade with upcycled vintage midcentury kimono obi woven silk fabric with gilt thread and hand-stitched with feather insert. Ethically produced by upcycling/repurposing vintage silk originally from a Japanese Obi belt, used to tie Kimono.

Hexagon pattern represents the pattern found on the tortoise shell and signifies longevity and good fortune. Diamond pattern (or Pine Bark Diamond Pattern 'Matsu") represents steadfastness and wisdom in age.

The front is made from upcycled vintage Japanese obi silk which is woven with real gilt thread. The reverse is made from upcycled vintage kimono silk.

The vintage silk dates from the Mid Showa period (40 years +) and may have some minor signs of it's previous life.

The cushion is hand sewn with a high quality feather and down pad included.

Comes with hand foiled tag which details it's edition number. Only 3 made.
